🏆 Gene Dewey Refugee Award 2025
Eleon Foundation was established on November 29, 2022.
Eleon Foundation is the result of expanding the activities of the Ukrainian Charitable Foundation “Eleon”.
Eleon Charitable Foundation, EDRPOU code 40352531, founded in 2016, is a non-profit organization based in the city of Korosten, Zhytomyr region, Ukraine.
Eleon Charitable Foundation in Ukraine supports low-income families, children deprived of parental care, seriously ill adults and children, internally displaced persons, the elderly, boarding schools, orphanages, and medical institutions. Since 2016 the Foundation has been carrying out humanitarian aid projects, medical support programs, children’s camps, and charitable events.
The first activities included supporting a severely ill boy, Ilya Yaroshenko (rare Canavan–Van Bogaert disease), and helping the Ushomyr boarding school for children from crisis families through material aid and psychological activities.
Over the years, the Foundation has implemented multiple humanitarian programs, including:
• KINDERLAND summer camps and “Cool Weekend” programs for children
• opening an office-warehouse in Korosten (2019)
• COVID-19 relief actions
• successful grant projects with the Embassies of Germany and Japan to equip medical facilities
• programs providing free prosthetics and medical treatment for injured children and adults in EU countries
Since the start of the full-scale war, the Foundation has:
• delivered extensive humanitarian aid to thousands of people
• evacuated 321 individuals to EU countries, including severely ill patients who received life-saving treatment
• provided free prosthetics abroad for war-injured children, including Andriy Tomchuk, mentioned by First Lady Olena Zelenska in the U.S. Congress
• launched the SafeHouse project in Korosten, offering temporary shelter for families with children, supported by a USAID grant
The Foundation continues strong cooperation with international partners such as CCLL (UK), Alight (Poland), Johannesstift Diakonie (Germany), and organizations in Switzerland, Germany, the UK, and the EU.
In December 2022, Eleon Foundation Poland was created as a partner organization to expand support for Ukrainian refugees. Since then, annual Christmas Project editions, summer programs, and rehabilitation activities have been implemented in Lublin for children affected by war and for children with disabilities.
In 2024–2025 the Foundation expanded its therapeutic programs, including hippotherapy and sensory-integration projects supported by UNHCR Poland, and launched support groups for mothers (“Time for Us”). In 2025, work began on creating a therapeutic and educational integration room for children with disabilities at Rataja 15b in Lublin.
Eleon Group operates an office and two humanitarian warehouses in Korosten, two cargo-passenger vehicles in Poland and Ukraine, and uses additional transport for large humanitarian shipments.
We build bridges of support because we deeply understand the everyday reality of families raising children with special needs.
